Josh Pinkston is ready to take care of business on the football field in 2010. His work ethic over the summer is proof that Forest's south state loss left a bitter taste in the mouth of this talented WR.
"I've been lifting weights and working on endurance and quickness," said
. "Last year we lost in the south state championship game and this year we're ready to win the whole thing."
Where has the Scout.com #77 WR improved his game the most this off-season?
"I think I'm stronger and more physical. I'm going to play more aggressive next year." Winning the state championship in Mississippi will not come easy. Pinkston and his team will be ready.
"Our entire team wants to get back to state and have an opportunity to win. We're all working hard."
The Forest High School football team isn't the only group working hard. Coaches from all over the southeast are courting the talented WR for his services at the next level.
"I have offers from
, Northwestern State,USM and
. They are all recruiting me at WR."
Pinkston has taken his talents to several camps this summer.
"I've been to camps or visited Ole Miss, Mississippi State, USM, UAB and Alabama. I enjoyed seeing all those schools. No one really jumped out. I just enjoyed the experience and the sites."
Pinkston has two more trips lined up for the summer before school starts back.
"I'm going to Ole Miss on Saturday. I want to show the coaches what I can do and spend more time with them. I'm going to Alabama before schools starts back for a camp but it will be more like a visit for me."
The Mississippi prep standout admits he's in no hurry to make a decision on which school he will attend after high school.
"I'm probably going to wait until signing day to decide. Everyone is even right now. I want to enjoy recruiting and see how it goes."
Pinkston is an excellent WR. He's very good blocker and has good hands. He will need to improve route running at the next level but has the size and skill set to give defenders problems. Look for Pinkston to be a WR who is not afraid to catch the ball over the middle of the field.
