Deon Green made an early commitment to South Carolina. What's the status of that commitment? Who…
Mike's Eye: Florida: 61-65.
61. DEON GREEN, 6-4, 268, Orlando (Olympia) As a prospect: He's very raw still but very talented. He's a good-sized kid with light feet and he runs well. His best days are ahead of him and he has loads of upside. Junior Year: Even though it was his first year playing football, he registered 75 tackles, six sacks, five pass break-ups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Recruiting: This South Carolina commit also had offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Ole Miss, Northwestern, Rutgers, UCF and Wake Forest. 62. TRE MASON, 5-9, 185, Lake Worth (Park Vista) As a prospect: He was very good in south Florida, against good competition. He is a major threat once in the open field and is also a good pass-catcher from the backfield. Can he handle going between the tackles on a regular basis is the question. Junior Year: He ran for 1,460 yards and 24 touchdowns as one of the most productive backs in south Florida. Recruiting: Mason lists Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Rutgers, and West Virginia as some of his favorites and all of those schools, and many more, have offered. 63. KEVIN GROOMS, 5-10, 170, Hollywood (South Broward) As a prospect: A terrific athlete playing corner, Grooms is probably good enough to get recruited on offense, too. He has good speed and some playmaking skills at corner. His game should translate nicely. Junior Year: He rushed for 1,625 yards and had 17 touchdowns on offense and was a shutdown corner on defense. Recruiting: Florida State and Tennessee were among his early offers but he's talked very little about the recruiting process in recent months. 64. TACOI SUMLER, 5-8, 165, Miami (Columbus) As a prospect: One of the fastest kids in this year's class, Sumler can make things happen a number of way. He lacks ideal height but should still be able to make an impact with his speed. Junior Year: On offense, he had 54 receptions for 994 yards and 17 touchdowns. On special teams, he had two kick returns for touchdowns and on defense he had four picks, one returned for a touchdown. Recruiting: He just committed to Oregon over Stanford, Wake Forest, Duke, and others -- all of whom had offered. 65. ELI ROGERS, 5-10, 170, Miami (Northwestern) As a prospect: He's five-star QB Teddy Bridgewater's favorite target. A slot WR prospect, Rogers doesn't have ideal size or even great speed but he knows how to get open and has been very productive at this level. Junior Year: He caught 35 passes for 551 yards and 11 touchdowns. Recruiting: He committed to Miami over offers from Louisville and UCF.
