Alonzo Harris profile
Several college programs had the chance to see Harris in action this summer as he put his skills on display at several college camps.
"I went to Tennessee, Clemson, LSU, Louisville, Alabama and Auburn and a couple of others," said Harris. "Now I am just getting prepared for the season.
"I am in the weight room and practicing. We get in pads next week. We're just doing some run throughs and things like that right now."
The 2010 has the chance to be a special for fans of Gadsden City High because of the available talent on the roster.
Leading the charge will be the very much in demand Harris.
"I have offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, Florida State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky and Jacksonville State," said Alonzo. "I think Clemson and Ole Miss may end up offering me. They are showing me a lot of interest and probably Louisville too."
As things stand now it appears the talented full back will be headed to a BCS conference school.
"Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Florida State, Clemson and Alabama are the main ones," reported Alonzo. "I feel at home at those schools and they show me a lot of love. I could see myself playing at any of those schools."
The Alabama prepster reports that he is in no hurry to make a decision, so interested schools still have time to make their sales pitch.
"I may decide some time during the season, but I am not sure when I am going to do it," said Alonzo. "I am just going to take my time and I will do it when I feel it's the right time."
Alonzo Harris is having the type of recruitment that most players in the south only dream of. With multiple offers from the SEC and several other schools around the south showing interest, Harris knows he has some big decisions to make over the course of the next few months. Fall practice is now in session, so Alonzo is ready to put his college future on the back burner for a while.
