Alabama prep receiver Jervohnte Riles became the latest to commit to Bobby Petrino's Razorbacks on…
What The Hogs Get in Riles
Jervohnte Riles profile So what should Razorback fans expect in the future from Riles. Strengths - Riles has great length. He has an impressive wing span that allows him to keep defenders off of him and also allows him more range in the pass pattern. He lines up as a wide receiver in the X position in high school, so he is no stranger to the vertical passing game that Petrino likes to run. Riles' experience as a wide out will only help him on the college level. He should create a mismatch with most linebackers that are forced to cover him out in the flat, across the middle and certainly if he elects to take one up the seam. He has a real advantage. Jervohnte is currently 6-4, 211 pounds and he has the frame to add some mass without hurting his top end speed. Once he gets into the Arkansas strength and conditioning program along with a good diet he will add 20 to 25 pounds of good weight easily. Weaknesses - His top end speed is a bit of a concern which is one of the main reasons I believe you will see him convert to the tight end position. He has the tendency to take plays off from time to time especially when the action is going away from his side of the field. Route running is an area he will develop. He has been able to out "athlete" a lot of the defensive backs that have lined up across from him, but on the next level he will have to be more precise. Summary - Jervohnte is a solid pick up for the Hogs. He is an extremely competitive player who has a team first attitude. He comes from a solid program, Bessemer High School formerly known as Jess Lanier High. Current Auburn signee LaDarius Owens, Mississippi State sophomores Brandon Heavens and Nick Bell and former Alabama standout DeMeco Ryans are all alumni of Jess Lanier.
