Hunter Expecting a Pair of Bulldog Offers
Michael Hunter profile "This summer I went to Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M and Baylor's camp at Marshall, Texas," said Michael. "I have offers from Baylor, Duke, Southeastern (Louisiana) and ULM so far. "I think the next two offers I may get is Louisiana Tech and Mississipi State. They write me everyday and they contact me by e-mail." Now that Hunter is officially on the West Monroe roster, he will settle in at defensive back rather than playing every snap like he did prior to the transfer. "Everybody is talking about me playing cornerback in college," said Michael. "I have been playing that since my sophomore year. When I was at Richwood, I played both ways, but at West Monroe I am just playing corner." Moving over to West Monroe allows Hunter the chance to rekindle some old friendships and play along side his cousin and close friend Chuck Hunter. "My dad got the job over there as the basketball coach back in June," said Michael of the reason for the move. "I went to junior high school with a lot of those guys, so they accepted me back in. "I knew a lot of them from before, so it's been pretty good getting out there with everybody." Hunter is anxious to show what he can do in Louisiana's highest classification of football. He is hopeful the added exposure will lead to more college options. "I want to see how the season goes before I make a decision," said Michael. "I want to prove a point and show the bigger programs that I can play at this level. I want them to know that I can help them win some games. "I want to wait until after the season and see how many offers I get before make my decision."
