5-star CB grew up Miami fan
Doran Grant has been on several unofficial visits this summer and he also participated in the Gridiron Kings 7on7 event in Orlando recently. "It went good. I went to compete against some of the best in the country. Everyone there was legit. They're all athletes and all compete hard." Grant, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, talked about the visits he's been on so far this summer. "I went on the Raw Talent bus tour to West Virginia, Cincinnati, North Carolina, UCLA, USC, Michigan, and Cal. Those were all my unofficials and camps," he said. "They went good and I was able to learn different things about those schools." Four schools jump out to Grant right now while several others are still in the mix. "I like Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, and Georgia Tech, and also in there are Illinois, North Carolina, Cincinnati, UCLA, USC, and Miami. I don't have a favorite yet." Grant says every school on that list, except for Miami, has offered him a scholarship. He talked more about his interest in the Canes. "I'm being recruited by Miami. I think the Hurricanes are close to offering but they haven't yet. I like their swagger. They have a lot of good players. My good friend, Latwan Anderson, committed to them. They were my favorite team growing up. I've been talking to Coach Stoutland and Coach Gonnella." The standout corner talked about what he's looking for in choosing a school. "A strong and stable coaching staff and I wanna be around good players. I wanna make sure the food is good and I wanna have a chance to play early. I think I can make an impact my freshman year." Distance could play a major role in Grant's final decision. "At first not at all but after I came home from that 15 day tour, it's gonna matter so that will play a role." Inside the classroom Grant claims a 2.8 GPA and a 17 ACT score.
