Scout's Take: Tennessee DE commit
Trevarris Saulsberry just committed to Tennessee. What to Like: Saulsberry has an ideal frame to start working with. At 6-foot-4, he weighs in the 230 range now and has the upside to become a 6-4/260 pound kid down the road. He's played against quality, big school competition his entire prep career and has emerged as a major prospect. Athletically, he has a lot of what you look for in a prospect and those are some of the reasons why he was recruited by major college programs from around the entire country. What may concern you: While he's a good athlete for his size, he's not the most explosive D-End prospect around. He doesn't always dominate like you'd expect him to at the prep level and his numbers suffered as a result. He had four sacks as a junior and he's talented enough to have way more than that. He needs to keep his motor running all the time. Bottom Line: Saulsberry was recruited like a solid three-star prospect and so the Vols are getting a quality defensive end prospect. He was never recruited by the hometown Gators, however, or any of the other Big 3 in Florida. He's a bubble top 100 kid in-state and has some solid upside down the road for the Vols.
