2013 QB Scores BC Offer

About a week ago Scout.com talked to Bryan Burns, the father of 2013 quarterback prospect Ryan Burns and decided to wait it out a while to do an interview with the Stone Bridge, however he got an offer from BC recently so we spoke to his father on Tuesday about their experience in Chestnut Hill.

Ryan Burns, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound signal caller from Stone Bridge High School from Ashburn, Va., has a long way in front of him when it comes to recruiting, but he did pick up his first verbal scholarship offer going into his sophomore year recently.

“He went up to Boston College and they were really impressed with him,” Bryan Burns stated. “They went from a group of 150 quarterbacks and kept breaking them down and showcased them as the group got smaller and I got to speak with the coaches as this was happening during the four-day camp. They just asked if I enjoyed my time, we never talked about Ryan at all. As he did his reps we found out toward the end is that they really liked his poise, his self confidence and how mature he was for his age (Burns just turned 15 in the beginning of June and was 14 at the camp) and decided to give him a verbal scholarship offer.”

“He’s just really enjoying the process and was shocked that they made him an offer,” Burns added. “We took a tour of the campus, got into the locker room and saw the dorms and it was a completely pleasant experience. The coaches were very helpful and while it’s a small school it gives you a big school feel. It was very clean and very nicely set up. They couldn’t have taken better care of us while we were there and they took very good care of us.”

Burns is in the process of competing with a senior for the starting quarterback spot at Stone Bridge High School. He is of no relation to current Stone Bridge defensive end Rob Burns.
