Closing Time

DeMarcus Hodge helped lead Neville High School to a 31-15 win over Franklinton last fall in the state championship in the Louisiana Superdome. December's historic win will not be the last time the talented defensive tackle plays on one of football's biggest stages. On Saturday, Hodge will announce his college decision. DeMarcus' final three are Arkansas, Mississippi State and TCU.

DeMarcus Hodge profile

Hodge reported earlier this week that he plans to call coaches from all three schools to inform them of his decision and thank them for their interest in signing him.

"I will probably make the calls around 7 P.M.," said DeMarcus. "It will be later on in the day."

Hodge has collected over a dozen offers including tenders from Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and ULM.

In the end Hodge can only accept one of those offers and he is prepared to get that settled this weekend.

"I will call the head coach at TCU (Gary Patterson) and the DL coaches at Mississippi State (Chris Wilson) and Arkansas (Bobby Allen)," reported the talented defensive tackle.

When asked if his choice of coaches to call was an indicator of his ultimate college decision, DeMarcus explained, "I am calling Coach Patterson because he is the coach that I am closest with at TCU."
