Scout.com is heading into Indiana, particularly, the Fort Wayne area, for the start of high school football season.
We will be stopping at three games. The first, Bishop Dwenger taking on South Side. We will be watching Stanford commit, running back Remound Wright, and Notre Dame commit, defensive end and offensive tackle prospect Tony Springmann, as well as a few other prospects Dwenger has.
Wright is a sturdy back who has shown us he can catch the ball out of the backfield. We'll be looking for some of the little things tonight like pass protection. Springmann is a guy who has potential on either side of the ball, and we'll get to see him first hand for a better read on where the Irish might play him.
From there, we will head over to Leo, where running back Connor Kacsor, a sleeper, is looking to land his first offers. Is he a Division-1 prospect? We will find out.
The last stop will be the big game between Snider and Luers. Luers has Indiana commit Kenny Mullen and Ball State commit Quyuan Mattox patrolling the secondary. They also have a solid linebacker in Steve Kiermaier, and a young linebacker Jaylen Smith, the younger brother of Ohio State 2010 signee Rod Smith. Snider has Ball State commit Kendal Frederick.
Other games of note we will be monitoring will include Warren Central and Merrillville. Always a heated game, the Warriors better not be looking ahead to next week's clash with Glenville. Avon and Hamilton Southeastern is another interesting clash, which features several talented underclassmen, as well as Orioles linebacker Armonze Daniel and HSE's Purdue commit, Randy Gregory.
Stay tuned to Scout for pictures, video and reports from Fort Wayne.
