"I am not sure why I am not getting more attention in recruiting," said Montae Williams. "I have heard from Georgia Southern and Ole Miss, but that is really about it so far."
"I give it my all every play, I work hard every day, and I want to get some offers. I play beside big Chris Mayes and he gets a lot of attention, so may have something to do with it."
"I am 6-foot-2, 250 pounds and I play hard, so I think some schools will like that."
Williams is right, some schools will once they see him. He is a very tenacious defender that plays with a high motor and very good leverage on the defensive line.
He plays both inside and outside and that is one of his strengths.
"I think my versatility is a good thing because I could play defensive end for some schools and defensive tackles for others. Me playing hard every play is probably my biggest strength though. I just never stop out there."
The Griffin, Ga. native is not going to stop trying to earn that first offer either.
"I want it, I want it bad. I know I can play on the next level and I am just going to keep doing what I do out there. I am not going to slow down at all."
Williams said Miami would be his top choice of schools if he could pick any offers. He also mentioned Georgia, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss as schools of interest.
He finished with 40 tackles, four sacks, and seven tackles for loss in 2009.
Spalding opens up against Griffin Friday night at 7:30pm.
