DE excited about Big 10
Max Chapman made one unofficial visit this summer and he did well at that camp. "I went to Duke June 12th, I don't want to say I balled out there but you know." Chapman, 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, made an early commitment and remains strong with that decision. "I am committed to Northwestern University. I committed because it is a great school. It plays in the Big Ten; it is like getting an Ivy League education while getting to play D-1 football." Who else is involved? Chapman says no one. "I am not considering any other colleges," he said. "My favorite team growing up was the Gators and Notre Dame. Notre Dame because my brother goes there and being from Florida, everyone loves the Gators. However, those two schools didn't offer me and Northwestern was the best fit." Chapman, who claims a 3.8 GPA and a 1200 SAT score, talked about what he was looking for in a school. "I wanted a school that is going to give me a great academic education so when I get out of college I can get job and be successful in life. Also football comes in; I wanted to play big time football." The standout defensive end talked about his goals for this season. "To win a state championship for a team goal and go undefeated and win every play." Chapman finished his junior season with 68 tackles, 19 for loss, and 11 sacks.
