Florida DL happy with decision
Matt Roth talked about the busy summer he had visiting various schools. "I went to the University of Florida, South Carolina and Duke. At Florida I had a really good showing; there were a lot of good players out there. South Carolina, I was by myself with the defensive line coach, he had me do some drills and taught me some stuff. A few days later they offered me. I went to Duke and did pretty good; I showed the d-line coach how I turned my hips and used my hands." Despite those visits, Roth had already made his college decision. "I committed to Virginia Tech because they are one of the top schools in the country football wise and also they have a building construction program, that is what I want to major in." Roth, 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, grew up a Florida fan since his father played there but the Gators never offered. "Even if other schools offer, I am a solid commitment," he said. Roth, who claims a 2.8 GPA and a 980 SAT score, talked about his goals for this season. "Win state championship and go undefeated every rep."
