How strong is Williams to Illinois?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Carl Williams transferred over to First Coast from Wolfson and he will play one year there before heading off to college. The Florida safety committed to Illinois earlier this summer, but how strong is his commitment? Find out here.

“I really like Illinois and I am committed to them,” said Carl Williams. “I really like the coaching staff, the area the school is located in, and I think the campus is real nice too. I committed to Coach [Dan] Disch and we were both excited about my decision.”

Excited Williams and Disch may be, but the excitement will not keep the Florida three-star safety from taking a look at other schools between now and signing day.

“I committed to Illinois over UCLA, Texas Tech, Connecticut, and South Florida, but I am still going to visit some of those. I know I will visit UCLA, Texas Tech, and Illinois. I am thinking about visiting Arkansas too.”

“I just want to take my official visits to make sure of everything, but I really like Illinois. I have a chance to play early there on top of everything else, so that is a school I can really see myself going to.”

Williams could play strong or free safety on the next level.
