Poteat Dashes In Chesapeake Bowl

Firepower continues to be added to the North Squad for the Chesapeake Bowl with the latest addition being Pittsburgh commitment Jameel Poteat who we talked to about the game on Sunday afternoon.

Jameel Poteat, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa., will be heading up the backfield in this year’s Chesapeake Bowl and puts yet another Panther into the lineup.

“I think it’s really big and only certain kids get selected, so it’s definitely an honor to play in it,” Poteat explained. “It should be really fun just to practice and then play with a bunch of my future Pittsburgh teammates. It’s really exciting to have the chance to go out and be the starting running back in this game too and I’m just excited about being a part of the game in general.”

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
