Commitments to the Chesapeake Bowl continue to fly in and the game just landed a very important cog for their offense in a true center when Harrisburg, Pa., native Artie Rowell decided to become part of the event.

Artie Rowell, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound center from Central Dauphin High School added another outstanding lineman to the Chesapeake Bowl on Sunday night and was very excited to be part of the game’s first installment as he told

“It’s an honor to be selected as one of the region’s top offensive linemen for the first Chesapeake game,” Rowell said. “It’s going to be a great experience and a lot of fun playing with my future Pittsburgh teammates. The bonding time with those future Panthers is just going to be awesome and I’m really looking forward to it.”

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
