Abdur-Rahman In Chesapeake Bowl

La Salle College High School won the Pennsylvania AAAA State Championship last year, so Jamal Abdur-Rahman is used to being on a big stage and he’ll continue that tradition this December as he’s been selected to play in the secondary for the Chesapeake Bowl.

Jamal Abdur-Rahman, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound athlete from Wyndmoor, Pa., just accepted his invitation to play in the Chesapeake Bowl on Monday afternoon and we talked to him about that opportunity.

“I’m proud to be a part of this game and that I was recognized amongst the coaches and talent evaluators as one of the top players in the Northeast part of the country,” Abdul-Rahman stated. “First and foremost, I hope to help win the game and get some picks in the secondary and then if I can help out on offense and make some plays there too, that would be great. I’ll definitely be representing Villanova while I’m out there as a National Championship team, so I plan to play hard.”

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
