Andre Wiggins is back out on the field after missing his 2009 junior season with a broken foot and…
First Offers for Wiggins
The television crews hit San Antonio hard a couple of Friday's ago to come and tape one of the top games in the Lone Star State between SA Madison and Cibolo Steele. The game was tabbed as a match-up between two running back studs in Aaron Green and Malcolm Brown and it did not disappoint as both players rushed for well over 100 yards. But the game also gave a platform for Andre Wiggins, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive standout to show his wares, after he missed the entire 2009 season due to an injury. He did not wait long to make his presence felt in the game as he blew up the highly touted Brown on his first carry, a play that let everyone know that he is back to full go. It did not take long for colleges to notice and he picked up his very first two official scholarship offers this past week. "I got offered by UTSA and Wake Forest this past week," Wiggins was happy to inform Scout.com of his first official scholarships. Schools like Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and others have are all schools that had been tracking Wiggins early in the recruiting season and it will be interesting to see who all else comes. "More to follow," Wiggins hoped. Stay with Scout.com as we will provide the latest on Wiggins recruitment and plan to feature highlight clips from his play so far in 2010.
