Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highland Preparatory running back Charles Pierre is a speedster that's being recruited by several D-1 schools.
2004 Prospect To Watch - Charles Pierre
High School - Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highland Prep.
Position(s) - Tailback
Height, Weight, Speed - 5-8, 197, 4.26
Honors - All-State (HM) and 2nd team All-County in 2002.
Scholarship Offers - No offers at this time.
Favorites - Miami, Maryland, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Oregon.
Comments - Pierre is a prospect to watch in 2003. He rushed for 1,800 yards and 25 touchdowns as a sophomore and despite missing two games in 2002, he rushed for 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns.
“I don’t have any offers yet,” said Pierre. “Everyone is waiting for my test score right now.
“My leader is Miami. I’m a friend of Tyrone Moss and I wouldn’t mind the competition at all.
“I’m also looking at Virginia Tech, Maryland, West Virginia and Oregon.
“Southern Mississippi, North Carolina, Maryland, Miami, Central Florida, South Florida and Georgia Southern have all called during May.” Pierre said.
Miami running backs coach Don Soldinger has evaluated more than 200 running backs this spring and he has Pierre as the #8 back on the board for the Hurricanes.
Pierre’s speed alone will land him a scholarship if he qualifies. His track coach has timed him at a legit 4.26 40-yard dash.
