Earnest Jones and Seth Adams of St. Augustine in New Orleans were the two most physically imposing prospects at the MSL Combine in New Orleans on Sunday.
The two most physically imposing players from the MSL Combine at Tulane
yesterday form a scary combination for St. Augustine High School in New Orleans.
Earnest Jones and Seth Adams play offensive tackle and defensive tackle for St.
Aug respectively.
Jones weighed in at 6-4.5 and 337 pounds and moved extremely well for a man of
his size. Adams was a chiseled 6-3 and 285 pounds, and he was just as impressive
in his individual drills. Each was the top offensive lineman and defensive
tackle that I saw yesterday, and it's a scary proposition for St. Augustine
opponents that they will be on the same field this year.
Alfred Jones is another highly touted defensive lineman on that team that was
unable to attend yesterday, but that's just another monster coming at the
quarterback.
Jones and Adams were obviously enjoying themselves yesterday not only during the
drills but after they were finished as well. They stuck around to watch the one
on one segment between the wide receivers and the defensive backs, and Adams
even lobbied some of the coaches lightheartedly to get in line with the
receivers to run some routes.
Coaches from across the country are going to be paying visits to St. Augustine
this spring and next fall. Who are some of the teams that the tandem is looking
at?
"I like LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and, I'll have to throw in
Tulane since we're here today," said Jones.
"My favorite teams are Miami, West Virginia, LSU, Clemson, and I'll throw
in Tulane too," said Adams.
St. Augustine was well represented at the MSL Combine with over 600 pounds of
power in these two big men, and they will be a team to watch this fall.
I will have a complete MSL Combine Review
from Tulane tomorrow morning including the top players at each position and a
look at how the MSL Combine is so beneficial to the attendees.
