Kenneth Phillips is one of the most talked about recruits in the nation. He is super safety prospect from Miami (Fla.) Carol City High School. Check out these video clips on one of the top prospects in the nation from the Class of 2005.
Miami (Fla.) Carol City is home to one of the most talked about recruits from the state of Florida in safety Kenneth Phillips. He will be one of the most highly sought after and highly recruited defensive backs in the nation among the Class of 2005.
Phillips, 6-2 and 209 pounds, is a sure fire National Hot 100 member for the Class of 2005. To me, he could play either safety position but I think he is better suited to play strong safety at the next level because he supports the run so well. Phillips is a big hitter and physical. He runs very well and has a nose for the ball. Phillips has good coverage skills at this stage. He has a great break, hips and field awareness and is good enough to play cornerback. Phillips is very much a true student of the game, always working harder to get better in every phase of his game.
“To me, Phillips reminds me of a young David Fulcher (Arizona State, Cincinnati Bengals) at the same stage,” said Larry Blustein (http://floridakids.us) of TheInsiders.com. “He has been my number one prospect in the state for two years of the Class of 2005. I thought he was the No. 2 prospect in Florida this past season behind (LB) Willie Williams.”
