Illinois two-way lineman Grant Nemeth is starting to receive plenty of attention from college recruiters. Nemeth has an offer from a MAC school and says several other schools have been calling on a weekly basis. Nemeth says he’d like to play for a Big Ten school not far away from his home in Wheaton, Illinois.

“I like Northwestern a lot,” Grant Nemeth said. “Northwestern is recruiting me as a defensive tackle and that’s the position that I’d like to play in college.

“Northwestern is close to home, the academics are very good, I like the coaches and the direction of the program.

Central Michigan has offered me a scholarship. Northwestern, Toledo, Ball State, Wyoming, Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois call me on a weekly basis.

“Northwestern, Central Michigan, Toledo, Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois are my favorites right now.

“We’re in the state playoff’s right now and I’m going to wait until after the season to set up any official visits.”

Nemeth, a 6-foot-3, 260-pounder from Wheaton-Warrenville South is one of four D-1 prospects for the Tigers including All-Americans Dace Richardson (OL) and Tony Moeaki (TE). Nemeth has started on the varsity for the past three seasons. He was named all-conference and all-area in 2004
