Spring Break ’05 is here and Indiana’s Cody Faulkner, like most high school students from the Midwest, is heading south for a little sun. However, Faulkner’s agenda may be a little bit different than your normal run of the mill high school student.

The 6-foot-4, 308-pound, offensive guard, from Arcadia (Hamilton Heights) will be visiting a few schools in the SEC who have shown him early interest in the recruiting process.

“Next week I’m going to be visiting Alabama, Georgia and Florida,” Cody Faulkner said.

“Everything has been going really good. I’ve been lifting weights and I’ve been doing a lot of running.”

Cody Faulkner has scholarship offers from Indiana and Wisconsin and he’s made several unofficial visits to schools such as Illinois, Notre Dame, Ohio State and most recently Tennessee.

“I liked Tennessee a lot,” Faulkner said. “I got a chance to meet the coaches and I got a good feel for everything.

“This summer I’m going to camp at Michigan and Notre Dame. I’m considering other camps as well but I’m not sure yet which ones I’ll be hitting.

“My favorites right now are Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.

Faulkner is a big barrel-chested offensive guard who looks very good on film. He was named all-state as a junior and he’s one of the top overall prospects in the Hoosier State.

As we mentioned, Faulkner did visit Tennessee recently and we wouldn’t be surprised if the Vols offered Cody a scholarship in the near future. Cody’s father, Chris Faulkner, played tight end for the University of Florida.
