HARRISBURG, PA -- LeSean McCoy is arguably the top recruit in the nation, so it was not a shock to see the tailback officially be invited to play in the 2006 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio’s Alamodome.

The classic East vs. West match-up will be played and televised live on NBC January 7th at 12:00 p.m. (CST) and will feature the top 78 prep football student-athletes in the country.

LeSean McCoy is the #2 ranked tailback in the country by Scout.com. He is a member of the National Hot 100 as well as the East Hot 100. At 5-11 and 200 pounds with reported 4.45 speed, McCoy is one of the more complete ‘backs in the nation.

“There’s nothing bad that you can say about McCoy. He runs with speed, power and balance. He can cut on a dime. He catches the ball, he can pass block. He has amazing vision, he can see a hole develop cut back and he is gone. He is a difference-maker and a potential franchise type player ,” according to Bob Lichtenfels of Scout.com.

As a junior, McCoy earned Associated Press Class AAAA player of the year, Offensive MVP of the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Conference, 1st team Associated Press All-State after rushing for 2,828 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Although still fairly wide open, McCoy strongly considers USC, Tennessee, Penn State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Michigan and Miami as his favorites.
