Gerald McCoy is Scout.com's #2 ranked Defensive Tackle, and now he is an Army All-American.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (November 1, 2005) --- Recognized as one of the top football players in the nation, Gerald McCoy of Oklahoma City, Okla, has been named a 2006 U.S. Army All-American. McCoy will join a stand-out list of athletes playing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The classic East vs. West match-up will be played and televised live on NBC January 7th at 12:00 p.m. (CST) and will feature the top 78 prep football student-athletes in the country.

At 6-4 and 285 pounds Gerald McCoy is a big defensive tackle prospect capable of playing early. McCoy has a great burst out of his stance. He is a leader. He works extremely hard at his game.

McCoy has already taken an official visit to Notre Dame, and he still has USC (11-5), Virginia Tech (11-26), and Miami (12-16) left on the schedule.

McCoy was one of 400 players nominated nationally and one of 78 selected to participate by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee.
