USC landed their second commitment of the year as South Torrance (Calif.) running back Chauncey Washington has announced for the Trojans. Earlier in the year, Western (Calif.) defensive tackle Fili Moala committed to USC.

"I never really liked USC that much growing up," Washington said. "I was always more of a UCLA guy but the more I hung around the campus at USC and got to know their coaching staff, I really started to like them and knew that was the best fit for me. I wanted to stay local, that was important to me, and I also liked the idea of getting the decision out of the way before the season."

Washington first caught our eye as a sophomore and had a strong showing at the Nike Camp in San Diego two years ago. He then went out and had another big year as a junior rushing for 1,872 yards on 225 carries with 24 touchdowns.

He was the top running back at the recent SoCal Nike Camp where he clocked a 4.56 in the 40 and jumped 30 inches in the vertical.

Washington's running style is similar to that of Arizona's Clarence Farmer coming out of high school. He has a nice combination of size and speed and is a powerful runner. He'll get the tough yards but also has enough speed to bounce to the outside.

Boston College, Oregon State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and LSU had also offered Washington.
