Union High has not only been successful on the field, but they have also produced numerous division one level prospects over the recent years. Dom Franks, Nathan Peterson, and Matt Romine are some of the talents who have netted major scholarship offers and junior QB Brandon Rogers looks to carry the tradition into 2008.

Brandon Rogers, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback from Union High in Tulsa Okla., is already generating some early recruiting interest.

Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Tulsa, Kansas State and North Carolina State are the teams that are recruiting me right now,” Rogers said.

Rogers believes that it is not only physical attributes that make up a successful quarterback.

“I consider my leadership to be one of my biggest strengths,” Rogers stated. “I am a pro style quarterback. Out on the field I rely on my arm strength and my ability to read coverages.”

“I would say that I look up to someone like Drew Brees. He is always a leader, and he is always making smart decisions. He gets the ball to the right receiver.”

Despite the fact his recruitment is still in the early stages, two schools have begun to separate themselves from the rest of the pack for Rogers.

“I would say off the top of my head that Wisconsin and Oklahoma State are two schools that have really caught my attention,” he explained.

“I like what Wisconsin does offensively. It would not be a problem for me going farther away from home.”

“I went to summer cam at OSU and I have gone to a scrimmage. I really like the offensive coordinator and the quarterback coach.”

“My older brother Brett is attending Oklahoma State, and he would love for me to play there.”
