NORTH FORT MYERS, FL. – Noel Devine of North Fort Myers has been named a 2007 U.S. Army All-American. Noel Devine is the tenth athlete selected from the state of Florida. Devine joins a group of extraordinary student-athletes selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

This classic East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 1:00 p.m. (EST) and will feature the nation’s top 80 high school football athletes.

Noel Devine is a standout athlete at North Fort Myers High School and was one of 400 players nominated nationally and then ultimately selected by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee. Devine is rated as the nation's top running back prospect and the number two overall athlete in the country.

"Devine has it all except for that great size you like to see in a running back, but Barry Sanders and Warrick Dunn were not the biggest backs and they faired pretty well after their high school careers were over," said Jamie Newberg, national recruiting analyst for Scout.com. "Devine is a special talent, one that comes along rarely. First and foremost Devine has unbelievable instincts and does things on the field you can’t coach. He has unreal vision and balance, two traits most of the great running backs all have in common. Devine has super speed and quickness and will blow you away with his surprising power. In space, he is absolutely deadly but he can shake and bake with the best of them or run right through you."

As a U.S. Army All-American, Noel Devine will have the opportunity during Bowl week to participate in a series of Army leadership and teamwork sessions, NFL athlete seminars, study hall sessions, and goal setting and achieving workshops.
