"I have my official visit to Rutgers tomorrow," said Scout.com's No.1 OT, Anthony Davis. "I'm looking forward to the trip. My school has a tradition of sending players to Rutgers. I'll have an opportunity to see a lot of players that I know or went to school with. A lot of the Scarlet Knights come by school to see the players or talk to our coaches. We have a close relationship with Rutgers..."

Scout.com's no.1 offensive tackle, Anthony Davis (6-5.5, 330, 5.3), from Piscataway Township (N.J.), said he favors Ohio State and Rutgers solidly over Florida.

"I had an official visit to Ohio State when they won (42-39) over Michigan (November 18)," said this five-star offensive tackle. "I loved everything about the Buckeyes. I talked at length with coaches Jim Tressel and Jim Bollman (offensive coordinator). They said I would have the best of both worlds at Ohio State. I would be a part of a great team and receive a great education. It's definitely a school that would prepare me for the NFL.

"My first day there we talked all about academics. Day two I hung out with my host, Malcolm Jenkins (cornerback). He went to my high school. He loves Ohio State and would love to have me play with the Buckeyes, but understands that I can't be pressured and that I need to make the decision.

"I have my official visit to Rutgers tomorrow (December 8), Davis said. "I'm looking forward to the trip. My school has a tradition of sending players to Rutgers. I'll have an opportunity to see a lot of players that I know or went to school with. A lot of the Scarlet Knights come by school to see the players or talk to our coaches. We have a close relationship with Rutgers.

"I was just at Rutgers yesterday, I already know a lot about the school and their program. I've spoken with coaches Greg Schiano and Joe Susan (recruiting coordinator/tight ends). They both say that I can come in and start. That's kind of important to me. They have a great program and they are on the rise.

"Florida is a good school as well. They're kind of my back-up school," he said. "I don't have an official visit set yet. I'll try to fit it into my schedule. They're a young school and have a lot of potential. I speak to Coach Steve Addazio (offensive line/tackles/tight ends). He also says that I can come in and play right away. I just don't know a whole lot about this school.

"Miami was a favorite of mine. But because of the whole coach situation, I can't even consider them. Not having a head coach is huge. USC was a favorite too. They're just too far away. Being close to home will be a factor in making my decision. I would love for my parents to come to my games. But, they aren't saying I have to stay close to home and they really don't have a favorite.

"I have received some letters and offers for basketball, but I wasn't interested in playing basketball on the college level," Davis said.

"I'll probably make up my mind after I return from Rutgers. But, I won't be saying anything about my decision until the U.S. Army All-American Bowl (sponsored by Scout.com) on January 6. I'll notify everyone at the game and probably hold some sort of press conference some time after the game. I'm not sure when the press conference will be held."

Davis reports a 2.5 core GPA and 890 SAT (old version)--says he qualified and will not be retaking his test.
