Hayworth Hicks says he has received offers from Oregon, Utah, Michigan State, Mississippi and a few others, but admits that none of them are still recruiting him. The latest school to run out of scholarship offers for the California offensive lineman was Michigan State, where he was supposed to visit on Jan. 19.
Three-star offensive lineman Hayworth Hicks (6-3, 333, 5.1), from Palmdale (Calif.), used to have offers from schools like, Oregon, Washington State, Oregon State, Washington, Utah and Mississippi, but he says he hasn't heard from any of the coaches in over a month and hasn't taken a single official visit.
"I haven't really talked with any of them in a while," Hicks said, ranked as the No. 28 offensive guard by Scout.com. "The most recent school to recruit me was Michigan State and I was supposed to visit them this weekend (Jan. 19), but they said that another guy already committed and I couldn't go."
Hicks favors Oregon solid over Arizona and Utah and hopes the Ducks show him some attention again. "I'd commit there if I had an offer," Hicks said. "I love Oregon. They have a great reputation and they have the best fan support in the Pac-10. I don't really know what's going on with them, but I think it's probably something about my grades."
Hicks says he has a 2.6 core GPA and a 900 SAT (new version), which he is retaking on Jan. 26.
