Cameron Heyward, a four-star defensive tackle from Peachtree Ridge High in Suwanee, Ga., announced his college commitment at a small gathers at his high school.

"He just announced for Ohio State," said one of the assistant coaches at Peachtree Ridge. "He said that it came down to Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, and LSU. The coaches from Ohio State came in on Monday, and he felt the most comfortable there and where he wanted."

Heyward added that Ohio State had been his first choice from the start and he was happy to get things finished before his official visit this weekend.

"He was excited, his family was excited, and we are all excited to have Cam make his commitment."

Over the last three weekends, Heyward visited LSU, Florida, and Georgia. The Gators and Urban Meyer had an in-home visit with him last night hoping to help change his mind. Heyward still has his official visit scheduled for this weekend to Ohio State.

In Heyward, the Buckeyes are getting a big man in the middle and more importantly an excellent overall jumbo-athlete.

"I'm quick for my size and very agile," Heyward said. "I can fire off the ball and love disrupting the passing game. I need to work on my fundamentals, like staying low and I still want to get a little stronger."
