Here are junior highlights of Palm Bay, Fla., linebacker and running back Ramon Buchanan who is one of the top overall prospects in the country. Buchanan is a very athletic linebacker prospect from Melbourne (Fla.) Palm Bay High School. Buchanan, 6-1 and 190 pounds, projects on the weak side. He has to be considered one of the most versatile and athletic linebackers in the nation. Buchanan has great speed and quickness. He is an explosive hitter with a superior closing speed. Buchanan can chase you down and play sideline to sideline. When he gets to the ball carrier he can flat out tackle and tackle with authority. Buchanan can also hold his own in the hole, defeat a blocker and make the play. Offensively he plays fullback and shows great skills on that side of the ball as well. Buchanan is a terrific blocker and he can also run the ball, showing breakaway speed, power and the ability to change directions. He made over 100 stops as a junior.
