It is arguably the South's deepest year for wide receivers in a decade. Scott Kennedy of Scout.com takes a look at several of the top playmakers at the position in this presentation by ScoutTV.
Those of us that grew up with Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson know that the
tailback has been the glamour position in the deep south for a long time. There
is a group of receivers in the Class of 2008 that are going to try and change
that.
I first began working in the field for Scout.com with the Class of 2003, and
without a doubt, this is easily the best group of wide receivers the deep south
has seen in my six classes, and I'd venture a guess it's the best year that
anyone has seen at the wide our position, maybe, ever.
In this video presentation I will highlight several of them including the Julio Jones of Foley, Ala., A.J. Green of Summerville, S.C., and DeAndre Brown of
Ocean Springs, Miss..
While these three have the share of the spotlight in this presentation, I also
touch on Georgia's big three of Tavarres King, Brice Butler, and Josh Jarboe as well as Aldarius Johnson and Tommy Streeter of Miami Northwestern.
We hope you enjoy this quick presentation, and we look forward to bringing you
more through the summer.
