Michael McAdoo (DE, Antioch, TN) - Perhaps the top
two sports athlete in Tennessee has had a chance to attend two SEC camps this
summer.
"I went to Ole Miss' and Vandy's football camps," added
Michael McAdoo.
Michael talks about his Ole Miss experience.
"I
liked it. I liked the way they ran their camp. Everybody was uptempo. You had
no time to walk around. I like how they coach. I am going to take what they taught
me, which is getting off quicker off of the ball and to go full speed 100 percent,
back home so I can improve my game."
This was McAdoo's second trip
to Oxford in the past few months.
"I also went to their Spring game.
Ole Miss was better than what I was expecting because they had a lot more talent
at their camp to go up against than I thought there would be."
The
coaches are the main attraction for the Rebels.
"I just like how they
coach. Coach Orgeron comes from USC, so he knows what it takes to get you to the
league. That is where I want to be one day."
McAdoo was also impressed
with the Vandy camp.
"They really care about you at Vandy. I like
how much they stress academics at Vandy."
It is not surprising that
Vandy's academic reputation is the main attraction for Michael.
"I
just like how much they care about their athletes. When I went on my visit, every
player had a tutor for every class. I also like what they do in the weight room
and how they practice."
Michael has begun to receive an impressive
scholarship offer list.
"I have received some new offers as of late.
North Carolina offered me in June. South Carolina offered me in May. Tennessee
offered me in April. Cinci, Indiana, Kentucky, and MTSU offered me in March, and
Ole Miss and Vandy offered me in February."
Who are McAdoo's top schools?
"Vandy,
South Carolina, North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Tennessee."
What stands
out about South Carolina?
"I like Steve Spurrier. I think he is a
good coach. My high school coach grew up with Steve Spurrier so he is always talking
him up to me. Coach Spurrier is always calling and checking up on me. I think
he is a real nice person."
And North Carolina?
"I like
their style of play. I like how their coach has coached in the league before.
He has sent a lot of players to the league."
What are Tennessee's
positives?
"Their defense, just how I can fit into their defense."
Michael
has already set a timeline about his decision.
"I want to make it
after my third game. Those are our toughest games, so I want to see how my season
is going before I commit."
