One of the big reasons why Michigan is usually one of the top teams in the nation is because they always have a stellar offensive line. This unit has always been a focal point for the Wolverines with more than ten offensive linemen currently on NFL rosters and perhaps the best lineman in the nation, Jake Long back in Ann Arbor this season. With all of those pluses it’s easy to see why they reload.
The Michigan Wolverines have received verbal pledges from four offensive linemen already this year including Dan O’Neil, Elliott Mealer, Rocko Khoury and Kurt Wermers. Wermers at 6-5 and 260 pounds has remarkable upside. Scout.com loaded his film recently and that is the one area that sticks out most is his potential.
With Wermers frame, he should have no problems hitting 300 pounds and maintain his footwork and athleticism rather easily. Here is Wermers junior highlight package, to view the film just click on the link. He wearing #70 and playing offensive right guard.
