Newark, Del., product Chad Davis has picked up two more written scholarship offers recently and with the total up to four, is now looking to pack on some other programs that he also has interest in. Virginia Tech is one program that has been interest for a long time now, but recently Michigan State has stepped up as well.

Delaware and Northeastern joined Army and Towson recently as programs that have offered Chad Davis and the 6-foot-3, 283-pound interior offensive lineman is also hearing steadily from Rutgers, Virginia Tech and now, Michigan State. Davis gave us the rundown of his recruiting picture recently and informed us that these new schools have now entered the picture.

“I am actually leaving camp at James Madison now who told me they would get back to me this week about things and also worked out for about an hour at both Northeastern and Delaware who both offered,” Davis said. “I like Delaware a lot and feel honored to be offered by them because surprisingly, they actually don’t offer in-state kids very often. Northeastern has great academics and does a co-op with my preference of major which is physical therapy.”

“Coach (Curt) Newsome at Virginia Tech said he really liked me and was ready to offer me right there when I was at camp, but they said that I was going to have to wait a while after talking to the coaching staff,” Davis explained. “Michigan State just started sending me handwritten letters all of the sudden, Rutgers has still been in contact and I am driving up to Boston College for a senior day on August 4th too.”

As a junior at Newark High School, Davis earned first-team All-Conference honors on both offense and defense.
