Ryan Wallace (TE, Bowling Green, KY)
- Scout.com's #26 nationally rated tight end was down to four schools,
but that list has been trimmed down to three, for now.
"Right now
I am down to Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Stanford," stated Ryan Wallace. "But
I have been in contact with a few new schools over the last couple of days. I
have been in contact with Rutgers, Boston College, and Colorado is about to offer.
Colorado is a good academic school. I would like to check them out."
Could
a visit with Colorado be in the works?
"They were suppose to show
their head coach my tape to get an approval for an offer, but I am going to go
on an official visit up there for the Florida State game on September 29th. I
set up an official visit to Ole Miss on September 22nd when they play Florida,
and I am going to Stanford on October 12th when they play TCU."
Wallace
said he wanted to make a decision before his season started, but that has now
been pushed back.
"I thought I was going to be able to do it before
the season started, but visiting all of these schools over the summer got me even
more confused. I think I will be able to make my decision before the playoffs
start, at least I hope I can (laugh)."
Bowling Green High school has
been practicing for a couple of weeks, and Wallace can already notice a difference.
"My
blocking has gotten a whole lot better, a whole lot better."
And one
more thing sticks out for Ryan.
"It just seems that my knowledge of
the game is a big factor. I feel like I know a lot more about the game of football
than everybody I play against. It is almost like I am another coach on the field."
It
is no coincendence that Ryan comes from a coaching family
"Yea, being
around the game for like 15 years and having my dad as the head coach has made
me a whole lot more knowledgeable about the game. He teaches me so much stuff.
He has been a teacher for me."
Does Ryan hope to one day be a coach
too?
"Yes, I a plan on getting a GA job when I get my degree, but
I am ready to finish out my playing career first."
