Greg Castillo is still holding five scholarship offers, but with the improvement he showed over the offseason, he could be looking at more as time goes by. Right now he and his teammates are off to a 4-2 start overall and are undefeated in the Philadelphia Catholic League, awaiting their showdown with Roman Catholic at the end of the season.

Bowling Green, BYU, Delaware, Villanova and Ohio are the five programs that have already extended written scholarship offers to 5-foot-11, 160-pound cornerback Greg Castillo so far, but others are showing plenty of interest in him. The St. Joe’s Prep athlete is averaging a gaudy 31 yards per catch this season, having hauled in 10 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns and has also added an interception to his countless amount of pass deflections.

“I actually took a trip for a Villanova game recently which went really well,” Castillo explained. “I like that it is close to home and get along really well with the coaching staff there. Academics also play a big role when it comes to them. It was obviously a different atmosphere there during game day then at a larger school, but I could definitely see myself fitting in there. I am also going to a Delaware game soon and am really excited about that.”

“Other then that I am trying to set up official visits with Bowling Green and Ohio right now and hearing from a handful of others,” Castillo stated. “Boston College, Rutgers, Iowa, Syracuse and Illinois have all been in contact with me and Rutgers invited me out for a game this month.”

As a junior, Castillo made 50 tackles, broke up 17 passes and registered four interceptions.
