After starting his varsity career 26-1 and winning two straight league championships, Jeffrey Legree is finding out how to overcome adversity this season as he and his Fort Hamilton teammates are sitting on a 3-3 record. They did lose a lot of talent from last year’s championship team and Legree has had to bring the team together much more this season.
Jeffrey Legree threw for over 3600 yards and 38 touchdowns over the past two seasons for Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., and while he is still playing very well this season he and his team have had to change their game plan a bit. Meanwhile, the 6-foot-2, 173-pound signal caller is busy with recruiting, setting up visits and talking to schools about scholarship offers.
“I am going to see Rutgers play South Florida on Thursday night and am just really excited to see what Ray Rice and Mike Teel can do,” Legree explained. “I really like the coaching staff there because they love their kids and treat them well. That program is also full of winners and they never put their heads down, even when they lose a few games. I am definitely going to be talking to them about a scholarship tomorrow.”
“Temple was at the school a few weeks ago and I think they could be close to offering me a scholarship,” Legree said. “My step brother plays safety there and they have a lot of young talent.”
Legree has also been sent tickets to games recently by Penn State, Pittsburgh and Boston College.
