While Stamford High School may be winless this season, they do have a number of young talented players on their team that will certainly be making an impact over the next few years. One of those athletes is outside linebacker prospect Khairi Fortt, a sizeable young man who impressed at camps this summer.

Khairi Fortt may only be 15 years old, but a 6-foot-3, 210-pound strong side linebacker that consistently runs in the 4.6 range in the 40-yard dash is sure to catch any recruiter’s eye, regardless of his age. This summer Fortt was able to make his presence known during camps at Boston College and Penn State and is also already hearing from Virginia through mail.

“Penn State camp went great and I really enjoyed myself there,” Fortt said. “I got to meet a lot of the players and also met with Head Coach Joe Paterno. The weight room and practice facilities were all really nice and so was the campus. I just like Penn State a lot because all of the coaches were very welcoming and taught me a lot of technique. They actually used me to demonstrate a lot of the drills to the other players, so I thought that was a good sign.”

“My team went together to camp at Boston College and I made it into the showcase at the end that coaches from other schools participate in,” Fortt explained. “Most of the coaches said that I had the fastest feet of all the linebackers during drills and I got to meet a lot of people from many different college programs. Everyone was surprised to learn that I was going into my sophomore year and it was a great overall experience for me because I learned a lot and really like it at Boston College.”

Fortt missed the first two games of the season, but the Stamford, Conn., native has had 22 tackles in three games since coming back.
