DeAundre Brown is a talented wide receiver who reportedly racked up offers from schools like Louisville and Tulsa before making the decision that he was going to be catching passes for New Mexico State’s high powered spread offense.

DeAundre Brown, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver from Seguin High in Arlington, Texas recently made a commitment to sign with New Mexico State on National Letter of Intent Day 2008.

“About two weeks ago from today I actually verbally committed to play for New Mexico State,” Brown said of the timing. “For one I feel like I could go up there right away and have the chance to start. I just want to get there as soon as I can so that I can get bigger, stronger, and faster.”

“They have what I want to major in (engineering) and they throw the ball around a whole lot. I feel like I can get a whole lot more touches in their offense.”

Brown is in the middle of a rough prep season, but does feel like he has made some improvement with his game.

“It is not going as so good,” Brown began. “We are 1-6. I am doing alright. I wish I could do better so I could help the team. We lost a whole senior crew so it has been rough. I feel like my route running has gotten a lot better.”
