Baltimore, Md., native Courtney Bridget has an intriguing frame and could end up playing a number of positions at the next level. He is already hearing from a number of programs that are interested in getting him out for a visit and camped at Maryland this summer. We spoke with him this week to get a feel for which schools jump out at him early and found he is very open.

With a 6-foot-2.5, 180-pound frame, Calvert Hall College High School athlete Courtney Bridget could end up playing either cornerback or free safety at the collegiate level depending on how much muscle mass he packs on over the next year or so. He is already hearing from a number of programs around the country and does have a few that have piqued his interest early.

“I camped at Maryland this summer and had a really good time as it was a great experience for me,” Bridget said. “I learned a lot from the coaching staff and the players there and felt like I came out a better player then when I went in.”

“Right now the schools I like most that I am hearing from are Oregon, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Maryland and Virginia,” Bridget explained. “I like all of the schools that have contacted me though and some of those others are Penn State, Illinois, Connecticut, Southern Miss and West Virginia.”

Asked if any of the programs stood out heads and shoulders above the rest at this point…

“I really like all of them, but if I could pick one right now to have a written offer from it would have to be the Oregon Ducks.”

As a junior, Bridget collected 43 tackles, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

He has a max bench of 220 pounds, a max squat of 355 pounds and holds a 2.9 core GPA in the classroom. Bridget will be taking the SAT in May of 2009.
