"I am committing to Alabama," said the quiet 6-foot-4, 212-pound Jones this morning on ESPNU. With the commitment, Alabama, which entered the day with a slight lead for the number one spot in the team rankings, should be able to solidly claim its spot at the end of the day as the national recruiting champion. More importantly with Jones, the Tide is gaining the top wide receiver in the country who finished his senior year with 68 receptions for 1,181 yards and 16 touchdowns. He had one rushing touchdown. Julio added another touchdown on special teams play for a total of 18. Jones' career totals at Foley High School for his sophomore, junior and senior seasons are as follows: 194 receptions for 3,287 yards, 43 touchdowns. Three rushing touchdowns, two kick return touchdowns, two punt return touchdowns and two fumble recovered and taken for touchdowns. Total touchdowns---52.
