"I will play at the University of Colorado," said Scott, who will be reunited with his uncle Josh Smith, a freshman receiver for the Buffs. "Family comes first, and I'm excited to be a Buff."

Scott said Dan Hawkins and his staff sealed the deal for him.

Well Dan Hawkins has a vision and I want to be a part of the vision," said Scott.

Scott is hoping to come in and compete for early playing time for Colorado.

"I'm going to compete and try my best to get that spot," said Scott.

For a kid from a beach community, the cold will be a difference, but Scott said that won't be an issue.

"I'll get over it, I'll get used to it eventually," said Scott.
