The Maryland/DC team had a great run this weekend as they won the Badger Sport/New Level Level Athletics Passing Camp 7on7 in Akron. One of the big reasons for the victory was the play of slot receiver Michael Campanaro.

Clarksville (Md.) River Hill wide receiver Michael Campanaro burst onto the scene last year after a lights out performance at the Scout.com Combine in New Jersey. Despite his lofty status as a combine star, some still question his size.

Campanaro may only be 5-foot-10, but that didn’t stop him from shining at the Badger Sport/New Level Athletics Passing Camp over the weekend. Campanaro was a big reason why the Maryland/DC team won the championship. Campanaro averaged a touchdown catch a game during the tournament.

With the New England Patriots run this season we saw that there is a place for the not so prototypical wide receiver. Wes Welker was one of the most prolific receiver’s in the league this year and Campanaro has a similar skill set. He can line up in the slot and do some damage, because he is such an outstanding athlete.

Here is a video interview with Campanaro as he goes one on one with Scout.com's Dave Berk.
