There were several very talented quarterbacks on hand for the Badger Sport/New Level Athletics Skills Pass Camp last weekend in Akron, but it was Morgan Newton who impressed the most. The big, gunslinger from Indiana had a great day and he spoke with Scout.com

Carmel (Ind.) quarterback Morgan Newton had an impressive performance at the Badger Sport/New Level Athletics Passing Camp last weekend. Newton didn’t get the chance to show his athleticism, but he did get a chance to show his skills as a pocket passer.

Newton helped lead Indiana to the quarterfinals where they lost to a tough New Jersey squad. Newton who has shown the ability to change a game with his running skills, but like many he gets tabbed as a dual-threat guy. Newton is a pocket-passer who can move.

In warm-ups Newton had a little bit of an awkward release, but as the day progressed it disappeared and his was slinging the ball around pretty well. He showed tremendous arm strength and velocity. His size really helps him see the whole field. He stands out above others because he scans through his reads and progressions. He showed our staff that he is a very complete quarterback.
