“Michigan came by (Wednesday) and then I’ve seen coaches from Arkansas, Tulsa, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Notre Dame, Tulsa and a bunch of others,” he said. “Coach (Mike) Haywood from Notre Dame spent about 30 minutes watching film with coach (Larry) Dautrieve and he said they really liked what they saw on film.”
East St. John will square off against South Plaquemine on Saturday in the spring game and that could bring another offer for the talented lineman.
“I think Tulsa is real close to offering,” said Lewis. “Some of their coaches are coming down for our spring game this Saturday. Depending on how I play, I think an offer could come.”
Some may ask why LSU has not shown much interest since Lewis is right down the road from Baton Rouge and that is something that has taken him by surprise.
“I don’t think they are really interested,” he said. “In a way it is kind of disappointing because I’ve been going to their camps since my freshman year and have followed them a lot. I got my first letter from LSU so I thought they would be coming after me but I guess I’m not on LSU’s board.”
Anyone who has seen Lewis play should know that he can play college football and he will be suiting up somewhere at the next level.
It may or may not be LSU.
But it will be somewhere.
