Story URL: http://recruiting.scout.com/2/754750.html Andrew Bone SuperPrep.com May 14, 2008 Kerwin Stricker, Scout.com three-star wide receiver from Washington, (Mo.), had decided to give an early decision and take other schools out of the recruiting equation. Stricker's relationship with the coaches and players made it easy to choose the Tigers. “I committed to Missouri back in March,” said Kerwin Stricker. “I felt like it was the right place for me. I wanted to be close to home. I really like their offense. I feel like I can showcase my talent.” “Their campus is really nice. They just got new dorm rooms for the football players. Everyone seemed so friendly when I went there. It was different from other schools I have visited. That helped make an impact. I have absolutely love their staff as well.” “I was recruited by coach [David] Yost, the quarterbacks coach. He really became my second father. I can go to him and talk about things. It helps me feel comfortable. I have only seen coach [Gary] Pinkel once. He knew who I was when I met him. It shocked me that he knew who I was out of everyone who was there.” “They recruited me to play receiver and kick-off return. I am 6-2, 195-pounds. I run the 40 in 4.45. Last year I had 596 yards receiving, and I averaged 22.6 yards per catch. I was named All-District and All-Conference.” Stricker knows his strengths and what he hopes to improve before the senior season. “I would have to say my speed and how physical I am are my strengths," he said. "My weakness I need to work on is when the ball is up in the air I need to go up and get it. I have the tendency to let it come to me." Stricker did not hold any other offers, but he did receive interest from Kansas, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Iowa and Illinois before announcing his decision.
