Cheshire, Conn., native Billy Ragone picked up his first written offer this week from Army and heads into the summer ready to get out in front of coaches at camps and show them why they should join the mix as well. Ragone updated us with his current recruiting status and gave us a loose itinerary of where he plans to be in the upcoming months, as well as who is showing him the most interest.

Cheshire Academy signal caller Billy Ragone has already nailed down his first offer from Army and will go into the summer trying to score some more, however with the addition of four-star wide receiver Joshua Adams to his team this year, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback will have even more weapons to help himself with recruiters this fall.

“I received my first offer last week from Army,” Ragone stated. “I spoke to Coach Brock and plan on visiting West Point in early September. Many schools have visited in the month of May including Connecticut, Virginia, Temple and Delaware. I think about 15 other coaches have also been by the school.”

“Right now I’m in the process of planning my camp schedule for the summer which will definitely include Boston College, Connecticut, Temple and Delaware,” Ragone explained. “I’m looking into some other options as well so that I can get out there and show what I can do.”

As a junior, Ragone completed 29 of 59 passes for 399 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He carried the ball 124 times for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns as well and caught 21 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he intercepted eight passes which he returned for 294 yards and two touchdowns. Ragone also had 21 tackles. He was named first-team All-Conference and All-League as well as being named first-team All-State by the Hartford Courant, New Haven Register and CHSCA Coaches Association.

Ragone carries a 3.6 core GPA, has a 28-inch vertical leap and benches 205 pounds.
