The 6' 4", 200 pound safety out of Seabreeze has 18 scholarships to choose from but three stand out right now.
"Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Michigan are the three schools I have
been talking to the most lately," added Jonathan Scott. "They are pretty
much my top schools right now."
The Rebels just made an entrance into
Scott's top schools of choice, why?
"I like the way they recruit.
I have gotten to know Coach Vaughn really well. He is my recruiter and would be
my position coach. We talk on a whole another level. He does not talk to me as
a player. He talks to me as a person. Coach Vaughn keeps it real. I look forward
to learning more about them."
South Carolina's coaches have also made
an impact.
"Coach Steve Spurrier Jr and I talk on the phone a lot.
It seems like he wants me pretty badly. I took a visit to their Spring game, and
I took a tour of their facilities. They are nice."
Michigan gives
him a chance to have a little fun with his brother.
"My brother, CB
James Scott, plays for them. I have always wanted to play against my brother.
I also talk to Coach Rod Smith every now and then. He is a good guy."
Scott
will keep it simple when it comes decision time.
"I just want to fit
in their defense and be comfortable with the campus. That is pretty much it."
Any
camps on tap this summer?
"No, I do not have any plans. I am not going
anywhere this summer. I will take my visits during the football season. I have
not set up any official visits yet, but I have been talking to South Carolina
and Ole Miss about setting one up in the Fall."
Jonathan also has
another brother, CB Kenny Scott, who plays for Georgia Tech.
"My
goal is to be the best Scott out of the household. It is a good competition we
all have with each other. They know which one has the most talent though (laugh)
but I still have some catching up to do."
Jonathan now holds offers
from Michigan, LSU, South Carolina, West Virginia, Ole Miss, FSU, Illinois, Kentucky,
Alabama, Auburn, Wake Forest, Rutgers, and several more.
Scott reports
a 2.8 GPA / 820 SAT.
